Performs ultrasound imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Adjusts equipment controls as needed in order to produce high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed. Uses an established work pattern to work efficiently and safely within an ultrasound environment. Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
