Description A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) invites applications for a full-time, exempt Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology position at the Mesa, Arizona campus. Faculty members in the Department of Biomedical Science contribute to ATSU-SOMA's mission and educate medical students through student-directed learning of basic and clinical sciences, utilizing clinical cases in small group settings.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a content expert in your area of expertise.
- Facilitate small group learning sessions.
- Collaborate with faculty to create and develop case-based learning materials.
- Prepare educational tools such as AV aids, demonstration models, lectures, and lesson plans.
- Participate in curricular meetings and faculty development activities.
- Develop board-style assessment questions in your area of expertise.
- Identify underperforming students and assess their weaknesses.
- Interview prospective students.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Serve as an advisor to at least one student club.
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research and community service.
- Contribute to university-wide groups as approved.
- Follow directions from the Department Chair and Curricular Deans.
- Be available during assigned hours for instruction and learning activities.
- Perform other duties to support ATSU-SOMA's goals.
Requirements

- Knowledge of and ability to uphold student and patient privacy (FERPA, HIPAA).
- Ability to follow OSHA and safety guidelines.
- Complete annual employee training as per ATSU policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
Terminal degree in pharmacology or pharmacy (PhD or PharmD) and at least two years of teaching experience in higher education.
