The Role

As a Solution Engineer at HIFI, you will sit alongside the engineering team and be the first hire in our newly created client services team. You'll work directly with customers—from first conversation through full integration—to help them launch and scale on HIFI's platform. You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and sales, serving as a technical advisor and advocate for partners as they navigate onboarding, compliance, and daily operations.

You'll help prospective developers understand what's possible with HIFI, guide them through implementation, and support their growth long after launch. Internally, you'll also play a key role in shaping how we build for scale, feeding insights from the field back into the roadmap.

This role is ideal for someone who loves solving hard problems, enjoys context switching between product and code, and wants to help bring modern payments to global businesses.

You'll report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in HIFI's APIs, platform capabilities, and integration flows.
  • Act as the technical lead for customer engagements—guiding partners through evaluation, implementation, and scaling.
  • Work closely with Sales to design solutions that meet partner needs, sharing best practices and helping build technical collateral that accelerates deals.
  • Translate business and product requirements into clear, actionable integration plans.
  • Partner with Implementation and Product teams to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term success for every customer.
  • Provide hands-on support during integration, helping troubleshoot blockers and optimize performance.
  • Capture product feedback, usage patterns, and partner pain points—and share them with the Product and Engineering teams to inform the roadmap.
  • Stay current on HIFI's internal roadmap, new features, and industry trends to better advise partners.
  • Help build the internal tooling, documentation, and processes that scale HIFI's client solutions function.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a client-facing technical role—solutions engineering, technical sales, or consulting—ideally at a fintech or infrastructure API company.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, web services, and data flow between systems; comfortable with HTTP, REST, and modern web architecture.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple customer threads without a lot of handholding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; clear, concise, and comfortable presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers, including technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset—you're resourceful, detail-oriented, and relentless about getting things unblocked.

We have no hard roles about in-person work; however, most of our company works together in our Flatiron office and recognizes it allows us to move faster.
