We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Solutions Design Engineer to analyze and improve processes, equipment, and procedures within our North American and Emerging Market (ECCF) fulfillment network. The role involves designing new and optimizing existing fulfillment center layouts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing high-performance physical systems, excellent technical problem-solving skills, and project management capabilities in a fast-paced environment. The Sr. Solutions Engineer should be a proactive self-starter capable of driving projects across various teams and organizational levels.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own the design and development of engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges, considering human/equipment interactions in the North America and ECCF fulfillment network.
  • Lead and coordinate concept and design efforts for optimal solutions, including equipment specification, material flow, process design, ergonomics, associate experience, operational considerations, and site layout.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Manage multiple high-visibility projects effectively, influencing and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews in partnership with Safety teams.
  • Build strong relationships with internal partners such as Start-up, Launch, Design, Construction, Procurement, IT, Safety, and Operations teams.
  • Travel up to 50% to engage with internal and external business and technical leaders.

    The Solutions Engineer collaborates with operations and network planning teams to understand initiatives and present solutions. The role involves working with vendors and internal teams to ensure safety, maintainability, and functionality of designs, while managing projects during the design phase.

    About the team

    The Solution Engineering Team in International Ops Eng develops innovative Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and storage solutions for Europe and ECCF. We partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to create proposals addressing fulfillment challenges, ensuring solutions meet operational, safety, and financial standards while fostering innovation.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience in industrial, operations, manufacturing, or project engineering in a manufacturing environment.
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Fluent in English.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions.
    • Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL.
    • Experience managing third-party vendors.
