We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solution Consultant to join the Solutions & Delivery Optimization team and play a pivotal role in the success of our solution offerings. As a Solution Concept Consultant, you will be responsible for driving consistency in the delivery and approach to solution concepting and data management, through direct customer contact (at a senior level), supporting the global sales teams during the full life cycle of project bids. Typically, with solution concepts that are in the early phases of standardisation.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do in the role:

  • Drive the solution concept process, leading to winning solutions while ensuring the application of our standards.
  • Act as the interface between regional teams and the global solution standardisation team for each project, often working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collect data that accurately represents customer requirements.
  • Clearly and concisely display design requirements in line with set standards.
  • Use written descriptions, Dematic Concepting Engine, spreadsheets, charts, and material flow diagrams to produce a Design Report that summarizes the project professionally.
  • Produce proposal documents and 'MOST' calculations for staffing models, ROI calculations, and presentation of these analyses.
  • Create standardized detailed equipment flow diagrams.
  • Support pre-sales activities with business development as needed to maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
  • Provide weekly status reports on all assigned projects.
  • Understand practices, methodologies, and requirements of global supply chain solutions, serving as an advisor to team members.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized concepts that meet or exceed design criteria, ranging from manual to fully automated solutions.
  • Provide data inputs for detailed simulation modeling and evaluate concepts to recommend the best solutions, using various evaluation techniques including ROI calculations.
  • Challenge project costs, timescales, and technologies to develop lean and workable standardized solutions.
  • Represent the company professionally to customers in line with company image.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree/HND or equivalent in Maths, Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operational supply chain roles with deep knowledge of distribution center operations and business analytics experience.
  • Innovative and creative thinking demonstrated through individual work.
  • Experience with project deployment of automated solutions within the materials handling industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-growth, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Fluent in business English; second language is desirable.
