Solution Architect4100 Beechwood Dr, Greensboro, NC 27410GROFFFull-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:00am - 5:00pmOVERVIEW:Working as Full-Time Solution Architect, you will be working with development team members to define solutions which are aligned with best practice IT architecture principles, influence IT industry solutions and services, and enhance core development in Web application, Mobile Application and IoT ecosystem. You will be responsible for solution design creation, evaluation and early phases of project estimation. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:o Collaborating with project, business and technical leads to create a solution design documents that meets business requirementso Collaborating with cross-functional development teams to guide the architectural direction for key business initiativeso Collaborating in creating future IT development technology vision and the corresponding roadmap to get thereo Leading the development team efforts to consistently create and retain required technical documentation artifactso Executing the hands-on implementation of proposed solutions and providing technical guidance to teams during the solutions' development and deployment phases is a major role of a solutions architecto Communicating designs/solutions in multiple forums and to various audiences including enterprise architects, infrastructure and developmento Managing tradeoffs between speed to market, quality, and financial impact when evaluating and approving solution design documentso Providing technical leadership across a broad spectrum of development tools and technologyo Collaborating to develop standards and best practices for technology, documentation and development processeso Coaching and mentoring development technical leadsREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:The skills and qualifications required for this position include:o Possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fieldo Possess at least 5 years of software design and development experience and at least 3 years of design & delivery experience with Microsoft Azure cloudo Experience with Infrastructure-as-code such as Terraformo Excellent written and oral communication skillso Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilitieso Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision-making skillso Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service orientedo Work independently as well as in a team environmento Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmento Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgencyo Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworko Pass the required drug screen and background check (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)PREFERRED EXPERIENCEo Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, C or C#, JavaScript, PowerShello Experience in web application, mobile application and IoT application developmento Experience in architecting large scale, greenfield enterprise applicationso Experience with Azure Resource Manager, Resource Groups, Virtual Networks, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, PowerShell DSC, Azure Automation, Azure Active Directory, Azure B2C, and Azure Site Recovery, Load balancers, Azure Front Dooro Experience in developing and deploying Cloud Native Applications using Azure PaaS Capabilities (App Services Plans, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Azure Containers, Service Bus, API Management)o Experience in Azure DevOps or CI/CD Automation implementationo Experience writing Terraform to manage Azure Infrastructureo Gained Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Experto Experience with Azure Governance and Best Practices (Role Based Access Control, Networking Architectures, Cost Management controls, etc.)ABOUT US:Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
