Sutherland is looking for an expert Project Manager with good knowledge on Solar Power Installation commissioning and maintenance. We have upcoming projects at 3 of our major sites in Jamaica.
1. Logistics & Site Allocation
- Manage transportation schedules for all solar equipment and materials.
- Oversee offloading, inspection, and secure storage.
- Coordinate allocation of materials to multiple sites, ensuring correct quantities and specifications are delivered.
- Maintain an inventory tracking system for each site.
2. Installation Oversight
- Supervise contractor mobilization, site preparation, and installation activities.
- Ensure all work is completed according to design specifications, safety codes, and quality standards.
- Resolve site-level issues swiftly to avoid project delays.
3. Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers, contractors, regulatory authorities, and the client.
- Organize site progress meetings and issue regular updates on status, risks, and corrective measures.
- Coordinate between logistics teams, installation crews, and commissioning engineers.
4. Quality Control & Commissioning
- Conduct inspections during installation to verify adherence to specifications.
- Oversee commissioning, performance testing, and handover.
- Prepare final project reports and operational documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in solar project management, including vendor selection and multi-site coordination.
- Strong understanding of logistics, customs clearance, and PV installation.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
