Job Description :

Energy Support Services is seeking a skilled and driven Lead Solar Operations Engineer to join our growing team. This role is central to ensuring the optimal performance of our commercial and distributed generation (DG) scale photovoltaic (PV) facilities. You'll serve as a key technical resource, supporting troubleshooting efforts, conducting root cause analyses, and driving performance improvements across our solar portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze performance data from solar PV systems to identify and resolve underperformance issues.
  • Identify and develop maintenance plans for troubleshooting and repair of equipment at photovoltaic facilities.
  • Collaborate on complex projects with the Operations & Maintenance team.
  • Assist field technicians and control room operators with advanced troubleshooting.
  • Lead root cause analysis for major faults or events and implement corrective actions.
  • Predict potential system issues through data trending and analytics.
  • Create detailed performance reports for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for external inquiries regarding system performance.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in engineering (Electrical preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in PV operations and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, using tools like Python, R, VBA.
  • Hands-on experience with PV system design, maintenance, and operations.
  • Established experience with SCADA systems, commercial DAS, and network communications.
  • Strong background in electrical systems (DC, AC, medium / high voltage).
  • Knowledge of protective relay settings and event analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects.
  • Understanding of NERC/CIP regulation is a plus.

    Employer will not Sponsor Visas.

    The expected annual compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000, encompassing base pay and potential incentive target opportunity. This range is a good faith estimate based on the position's requirements. Specific compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary depending on factors such as relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, this position may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, including Retirement Benefits, Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Life Insurance and Disability, Tuition Reimbursement, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences, and more.
