Position Scope and Organizational Impact

Moss' Solar Civil Superintendents plan, schedule, organize, and direct the construction of Solar Projects. They are responsible for all field execution, typically supervising several Assistant Superintendents. They coordinate the timely and cost-effective placement of work, assist the Project Manager and/or Project Executive, and supervise all field construction work, including safety and quality control policies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in preconstruction activities, including identifying project and owner requirements and conducting meetings with subcontractors.
  • Lead the construction team from start to project closeout.
  • Communicate project scope to the site management team.
  • Maintain project schedules and assist in developing scopes of work.
  • Establish safety protocols to ensure OSHA standards are met.
  • Communicate regularly with owners and management team members.
  • Monitor project progress, participate in meetings, and update schedules.
  • Develop and oversee quality control plans.
  • Manage self-performed work and supervise project personnel.
  • Oversee project turnover and closeout processes.
  • Mentor and evaluate team members, encouraging professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Education and Work Experience

    • Minimum 8 years' experience as the primary superintendent on solar construction projects.
    • Experience managing multiple direct reports and leading project teams.
    • Knowledge of regulatory and permit requirements.
    • Ability to handle electrical and mechanical disciplines.
    • Proactive problem-solving skills.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
