Job Description :
As a Software Quality Manager, you will lead a team of IT professionals whose primary goals are to oversee and perform testing on various system applications to confirm customer requirement goals are met. You will supply first-hand leadership of all aspects of the QA functions of the team, managing the development, coordination and organization of system/user acceptance testing for multiple simultaneous releases of the program portfolio. You will manage the determination, supervision and implementation of test methodologies and measurements to improve Sentry's current quality standards.    

The General, now a part of Sentry Insurance, is looking for a Software Quality Manager to join their team in their Nashville, TN office!

  • Contribute: As a Software Quality Manager, you will:

    • Define and manage manual and automated QA testing best practices across Sentry Personal Lines systems, providing project team management and governance on all initiatives.

    • Provide coaching and mentoring of direct reports on best practices and testing methodologies.

    • Build, develop, and maintain good working relationships with internal and external partners, and collaborate with cross functional peers to implement and keep quality methodologies aligning automation efforts with overall software development and product objectives.

    • Oversee the utilization of automated software testing tools and serve as a primary contact for testing system suppliers.

    • Ensure adherence to key performance indicators to measure program quality.

    • Leverage data and feedback to drive decisions to optimize team performance.

What it Takes

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

  • Strong understanding of risk-based testing approaches and strategies.

  • Experience leveraging data to support test tracking, verification, and traceability.

  • Proficiency in software testing methodologies and problem-solving tools/techniques and test tools and frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of various insurance products, processes, and practices.

  • Understanding of current industry technology including software and devices.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and responsibly manage to established deadlines.

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, documentation, and other written materials; supports organized and correct records of work performed; aids in developing training materials/programs.
