Summary:

The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems that make computers work.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Play testing wearable features, identifying issues, self-driven troubleshooting, documenting issues, performing first-level triaging and fixes for wearable devices, finding workarounds to unblock lab activities, and collaborating with team engineers on complex fixes.
  • Support lab activities and develop related features on Android for wearable devices.
  • Review and approve modifications of existing databases and database management systems.
  • Instruct staff on writing and coding logical and physical database descriptions, and specify database identifiers to management systems.
  • Lead database development and approve project scope and limitations.
  • Estimate time and cost for project requests based on database user needs.
  • Implement security measures to protect information against damage, modification, or disclosure.
  • Supervise installation and testing of new products and system improvements.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for software use and information protection.
  • Skills:
    • 7+ years as a software engineer, with 3+ years of Android experience and 1+ year in project management.
    • 50% lab support, debugging, and triaging wearable devices; 50% developing new features on Android for wearable devices.
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    • Mentoring skills for providing support and performance feedback.
    • Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
    • Troubleshooting skills and ability to implement system changes.
    • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
    Education/Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.
