Summary:
The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems that make computers work.
Job Responsibilities:
Play testing wearable features, identifying issues, self-driven troubleshooting, documenting issues, performing first-level triaging and fixes for wearable devices, finding workarounds to unblock lab activities, and collaborating with team engineers on complex fixes.Support lab activities and develop related features on Android for wearable devices.Review and approve modifications of existing databases and database management systems.Instruct staff on writing and coding logical and physical database descriptions, and specify database identifiers to management systems.Lead database development and approve project scope and limitations.Estimate time and cost for project requests based on database user needs.Implement security measures to protect information against damage, modification, or disclosure.Supervise installation and testing of new products and system improvements.Develop standards and guidelines for software use and information protection.Skills:
- 7+ years as a software engineer, with 3+ years of Android experience and 1+ year in project management.
- 50% lab support, debugging, and triaging wearable devices; 50% developing new features on Android for wearable devices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Mentoring skills for providing support and performance feedback.
- Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
- Troubleshooting skills and ability to implement system changes.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.
