About the Department

Cloudflare\'s engineering teams build and maintain the systems and products that power our global platform, serving on average over 46 million HTTP requests per second to users around the world.

About the Team

Engineering delivers code to production at a rapid pace and relies on automated testing. The Testing at Scale team builds and runs tooling for other engineering teams to verify interactions between systems and products in production at scale.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for highly motivated software engineers to join our Testing at Scale team. You\'ll have a strong programming background with deep experience developing and maintaining distributed systems. You\'ll need to communicate effectively with engineers across the company to understand system and product behaviors and deliver tooling to meet testing needs. You will also work with product managers to support public facing synthetic testing and load testing products for enterprise customers.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• Proven track record as a software engineer or similar role.
• Programming experience with Go or Rust.
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining secure and highly-available distributed systems.
• Ability to develop, document and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts to verify systems operate as expected.
• Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases and test reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to understand how their systems function and interact with other Cloudflare systems.
• Help drive continued improvements in the software development testing processes.
• Be a good communicator, provide clear and concise feedback to engineering and product teams.

Nice to have skills

• Experience working with synthetic traffic & load testing tools.
• Experience with measuring uptime metrics like availability & latency SLOs/SLIs.
