Exciting Software Engineer opportunity with an established firm! This is a contract role with potential to convert to permanent. Must be in commuting distance to San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, Rancho Cordova, CA, or Alpharetta, GA. There may be occasional onsite work needed.

Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent technical education and experience.
- Minimum seven years of experience designing and developing high-performing and secure applications.
- Experience with Optical Character Recognition (OCR), e.g., FIS FormWorks, Mavro, OPEX, impira, etc.
- Expertise in OCR editor configuration and batch support.
- Experience in building and maintaining DEVOPS GHEC Pipelines.
- Experience in configuring Observability Platforms (Datadog).
- Expertise in 834 EDI file format and processing.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices for sound technology choices and strategic decisions.
- Ability to develop innovative approaches to detect, respond to, and eradicate tech debt, anti-patterns, and advanced threats.
- Research and apply innovative methodologies, latest industry trends, and design patterns.
- Recognize underlying problems, opportunities, or political forces affecting the organization.
- Subject matter expert responsible for sharing expertise with other engineers.
- Build partnerships with significant internal and external stakeholders as part of an influencing strategy.
- Demonstrate mastery in their area of expertise and be recognized as an authority by peers and leaders.
- Evaluate and generate options considering software reliability, scalability, operational ease, and skillset availability.

What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
- Enhance and support the Formworks application, designing, building, delivering, and maintaining highly scalable functionality.
- Use industry best practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers, architects, principal engineers, test automation teams, and DevOPS engineers.
- Build, configure, customize, and support products for challenging business use cases, existing systems, and operational problems.
- Lead architectural design, system analysis, and programming activities, often requiring independent research.
- Develop high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable software using best practices.
- Write high-quality, comprehensive technical documentation and foster a documentation culture.
- Drive code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with leadership and teams to define and scope requirements, and drive results.
- Assess risks, scope efforts, and communicate trade-offs effectively.
- Evaluate the impact of hardware and software upgrades.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects.
- Support and collaborate during evaluation, design, and development phases.
- Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with policies, acting as a technical expert.
