Description
Join Leidos as a Software Engineer dedicated to providing Post Production Software Support (PPSS) and Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) for critical sensor technologies. This role primarily supports operations at Aberdeen Proving Ground and requires an active DoD Secret clearance.
In this exciting position, you'll be at the forefront of developing and maintaining software solutions for vital sensor platforms that play a crucial role in military readiness. Your contributions will impact a variety of advanced systems, such as the Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3), Biometric Automated Toolset Army (BAT-A), and many more essential aerial sensor systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize software applications and source code.
- Manage the full software release lifecycle while applying effective frameworks.
- Conduct programming, documentation, configuration management, testing, and debugging tasks.
- Collaborate with system engineers to transform requirements into functional tools.
- Engage in the design and testing of operating systems-level software and network applications.
- Work independently or lead small teams, delivering robust software solutions for sensor technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years (additional experience may substitute for degree).
- Possession of an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Demonstrable experience in the full software lifecycle for military systems.
- Expertise in C#, C++, .NET, and Visual Basic.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 environments.
- Strong skills in documentation and configuration management.
- Able to excel independently or in collaborative team settings.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% within the continental U.S.
- Experience working within matrixed team structures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with virtual environments such as VMware.
- Knowledge of Visual Studio and its plugin architectures.
- Familiarity with tools like Eggplant, Jira, Confluence, Perforce Helix ALM, Git/GitHub.

Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
