Software Engineer | Albany, New York, United States Data Engineer We're looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our growing team. You'll be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the robust data infrastructure that powers our analytics and machine learning initiatives. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse/data lake. Build and maintain data models that support reporting, analytics, and machine learning applications. Implement and manage data storage solutions, ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions for continuous improvement. Ensure data governance, compliance, and best practices are followed throughout the data lifecycle. Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to enhance our data platform capabilities. Document data architectures, pipelines, and processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Proven experience (X+ years, e.g., 3+ years) as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). Expertise in at least one programming language commonly used for data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, Scala). Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift/S3/Glue, Google BigQuery/Dataflow, Azure Data Lake/Synapse). Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks). Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink) is a plus. Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
