Overview
SCCI is seeking an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to support the Battle Management System (BMS) program. The role involves working closely with technical teams to develop requirements and build software for a tactical weapons system, applying robust software engineering processes. The engineer will interface with various engineering and external organizations to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop solutions. This position requires CONUS travel up to once per quarter and is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities
- Develop code for embedded micro-controllers and create interactive GUI-based simulators.
- Support installation and assessment of embedded systems locally and externally.
- Travel to external locations for project-related events.
Essential Skills and Experience
- U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering or equivalent experience with embedded software development.
- At least 3 years of experience in embedded software development, including concept, prototype, design, and coding.
- Proficiency in C#, Java, or C++ programming.
- Experience with hardware architectures, micro-controllers, and communication protocols.
- Strong debugging skills with hardware-software interfaces using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Experience developing testing strategies for hardware-software integration.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network stack, and socket programming.
- GUI development experience.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues.
- Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
- Ability to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with weapon system integration.
- Knowledge of military standards such as MIL-STD-1553 and STANAG 4586.
- Experience with GPS, sensor integration, and safety circuitry.
