The technical work is hands-on, lab discovery focused, and multi-disciplinary. The work location is the Tidewater region of Virginia.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain dashboards using Node.js and Node-RED to monitor data from wireless sensors including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, TPMS, and RFID devicesCreate data collection and analytics tools using Python and Bash scripting to support sensor workflowsLeverage Wireshark, Python, and Pyshark to ingest and analyze cellular network trafficAutomate infrastructure and operational tasks by developing playbooks and scripts within the Ansible frameworkConfigure and administer internal networks, including PF Sense firewalls, to manage multi-device environments composed of servers, workstations, and surveillance camerasDeploy, manage, and optimize Windows and Linux servers, supporting specialized software such as OpenALPR, Rank One, BriefCam, and Axis Camera StationDesign and manage Docker containers for scalable ingestion and correlation of sensor metadata, facial recognition data, and license plate detectionsBuild and deploy computer vision applications in Python for real-time object detection in images and video feedsProvide field support for the installation, fabrication, and deployment of various technical systemsConduct reverse engineering of commercial software for internal R&D purposesCollaborate with developers and data scientists to deliver software development supportRequirements5+ years of software engineering experienceBroad understanding of several programming languages (C++, C#, Java, Python, Node.js, SQL, Rust, etc.)Understanding of databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or OracleExperience with Docker, Ansible, and PF Sense for containerization, automation, and secure network configurationExperience with Linux/Windows server administration, including installation and maintenance of video analytics and sensor platformsVirtualization experience with VirtualBox or VMwareBasic understanding of networksUnderstanding of network analysis and wireless data protocols including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, TPMS, and RFID using tools such as Wireshark and PysharkUS citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance requiredDo you know anyone for this position, or other positions open at The Swift Group?
