Job Description :

CurbWaste is an early-stage vertical SaaS company on a mission to transform the Waste Management industry — a critical sector that has long been underserved by modern technology. We're here to change that.

Our customers are the backbone of essential infrastructure: humble, hard-working operators running complex businesses with little support from software. We're building tools that bring them the power, clarity, and efficiency they deserve — and we're just getting started.

At CurbWaste, we hold a high bar. We challenge each other to grow every day, operate with trust and ownership, and are relentlessly focused on delivering real value to our customers.

About the Role

CurbWaste is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who's hungry to build real-world impact into every line of code. In this role, you won't just ship features — you'll help define the product, shape our technical foundation, and directly improve the lives of customers in a historically underserved industry.

You'll work side-by-side with our Head of Engineering, product leaders, and founders to bring our roadmap to life and push the boundaries of what's possible in waste tech. You'll have a key voice in architecting scalable, maintainable systems, making foundational decisions that will influence our platform for years to come.

The ideal candidate is a sharp, opinionated builder who writes clean, reliable code, cares deeply about product quality, and thrives on solving meaningful, end-to-end problems. This is a high-impact role with room to lead, move fast, and build things that matter — with a team that's all-in.

What You Will Do
  • Take on challenging projects, everything from refactoring to developing new complex features. You will have a lot of autonomy to put into practice what you have learned and implement your ideas for improvement
  • Work with engineers, product managers, QA team, Customer Success team, and leadership in a highly collaborative environment where everyone shares ownership of the company's success
  • Work on making our application scalable through code, architecture & infrastructure
  • Work in an agile environment
  • Lead by example in being a craftsman in software development. Champion testing & automation
  • Encourage habits around technical excellence, evolutionary design, and lifelong learning

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing server applications in Javascript or Typescript
  • Experience in Node.js & React
  • Proficiency in API building & design
  • Experience designing SQL tables, choosing indexes, tuning queries
  • Excellent communication skills and an exceptional eye for detail
  • You enjoy writing clean code that is easy to maintain and understand
  • Must be based in the US or Canada, with a valid work permit

Benefits

This is not just a job, this is a career, it's an opportunity to make a real impact in a critical industry.

  • Flextime, recognition, and support for autonomous work. Enjoy flexible time off and generous learning and development opportunities to grow your career
  • Health benefits: Company-paid medical, dental, and vision

We care about the environment and want to play a positive role in the future of the waste industry. Software helps create solutions, and we are focused on being the leaders in change.

At CurbWaste, we celebrate individuality and uniqueness. We believe that the convergence of fresh perspectives and experiences from all walks of life is what makes our product and culture so great.
