Software Engineer Responsibilities:
Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for massive social data and prediction problems.Have industry experience working on ranking, classification, recommendation, and optimization problems such as payment fraud, click-through or conversion rate prediction, click-fraud detection, ads/feed/search ranking, text/sentiment classification, collaborative filtering/recommendation, or spam detection.Work on problems of moderate scope, developing highly scalable systems, algorithms, and tools leveraging deep learning, data regression, and rules-based models.Suggest, collect, analyze, and synthesize requirements and identify bottlenecks in technology, systems, and tools.Develop solutions that significantly improve efficiency and leverage large amounts of data, exploring state-of-the-art deep learning techniques.Receive general instructions from a supervisor and code deliverables in tandem with the engineering team.Adapt standard machine learning methods to modern parallel environments like distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU.Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. is permitted.Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, plus two years of relevant work experience.Two years of experience in:Programming in C, C++, C#, or JavaWorking with relational databases and SQLUsing software development tools such as code editors (VIM or Emacs)Working with Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS, including file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scriptingBuilding highly scalable, performant solutionsApplying algorithms and core computer science concepts to real-world systems, recognizing patterns across various areas of computer science in production systemsPublic Compensation:
