GAR Associates, LLC is a real estate appraisal and consulting firm with over 63 years of experience with offices in both the Capital Region and Western parts of New York. Over the past ten years, GAR has made a significant investment in developing software applications which assist our clients in property valuation analytics or in communicating with the public. We currently support or are in development with multiple, state-of-the art web applications and artificial intelligence models that meet both our internal needs and those of our clients.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Engineer (Full Stack). The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Azure-based web applications. Day-to-day tasks include working on both front-end (React) and back-end components (Python/FastAPI), ensuring applications are scalable, secure, and efficient. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshooting and solving software issues, and participating in code reviews.

Key Requirements

• React and Python
• Postgresql or database queries with SQL
• CICD and hosting with Kubernetes
• Computer Science degree or equivalent
• 5+ years experience as a software engineer

Experience in the Following Preferred

• Cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS)
• Cloud deployment with Docker containers
• Cloudflare / DNS
• Restful API, FastAPI
• Go Language
• ESRI or Google Mapping
• Logging/Telemetry
• Unit testing
• Security standards such as OAuth
• Agile team process
