What You Will DoBuild and maintain distributed systems for high-throughput processing and long-term storage of real-time telemetry and sensor data.
Architect scalable storage solutions tailored for massive, time-series datasets.
Optimize system performance and resilience to meet real-world, high-stakes engineering demands.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—hardware engineers, designers, and operators—to deliver production-grade tools.
Set backend technical direction, contributing architectural insights and mentorship to more junior engineers.
Stay informed on the latest trends in backend and data engineering, integrating relevant tools and practices into the platform.
4+ years of experience designing and maintaining distributed backend systems with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.
Proficient in one or more backend languages such as Java, Go, or Rust, and experienced in writing clean, maintainable code.
Solid understanding of building infrastructure in modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experienced with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Strong verbal and written communication skills—able to explain technical ideas across disciplines.
Familiarity with storage and analytics technologies such as Parquet, ClickHouse, TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, or Apache Druid.
Experience working with telemetry systems or real-time data pipelines.
Knowledge of technologies like Apache Kafka, Arrow, Spark, or Flink.
Prior exposure to telemetry or systems engineering environments (e.g., aerospace, defense, robotics, energy).
Salary Range: $150,000 – $180,000 base (commensurate with experience)
