SummaryThe Software Architect will optimize the technology architecture used by software applications, whether developed in-house, by a consultant, or provided by a third-party. Working with others constantly to modernize every system, the Software Architect will experiment with and prototype new tools and approaches to determine which ones may improve developer productivity and/or reduce overall complexity. The Software Architect will serve as a resource to others regarding existing software, plans for new software, and industry trends overall.

The Software Architect will serve as a resource to others regarding existing software, plans for new software, and industry trends overall.Responsibilities

• Provided senior-level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the overall systems architecture.
• Work with product teams to guide the design of technology solutions, including architecting and implementing solutions that require the integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and software.
• Review, advise, and design standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
• Contribute to the roadmap for each system, including (when known) technical or functional obsolescence dates.
• Assist in the development and management of an architecture governance process.
• Provide technical guidance and productivity tools to product teams.
• Develop and maintain architectural assets including security requirements, principles, standards, policies, reference architectures, models, blueprints, roadmaps, frameworks, patterns, and services using the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
• Research new technologies and demonstrate their use by developing proof-of-concept demonstrations.
• Work closely with Cloud-native application architectures including PaaS, IaaS, microservices, containerization, serverless computing, and API design.
• Develop, create awareness for, and monitor adherence to integration standards that meet operational requirements including scalability, maintainability, security, and reliability.
• Track industry trends and maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies to serve the enterprise's architecture needs better.
• Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
• Participate in pre-task planning.
• Report any safety issues or concerns to Management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 10 years of relevant experience; or a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience.
• 8 years of applicable business or system development experience.
• Knowledge of and expertise in multiple and varied technologies and programming languages.
• Extensive experience with C#.NET and related Microsoft technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• In-depth understanding of microservice architecture, RESTful APIs, and containerization, as well as SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Expertise in secure and efficient database designs.

This is a 6-month Contract-to-Hire opportunity with our Kansas City based client. Employee benefits include Medical/Dental Benefits, Paid time off, Paid Holidays, and 401(k). H1-B Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. No third-parties, please.
