Job Description :
The Social Services Resource Coordinator provides social services support, in the language of the families served.The Social Services Resource Coordinator serves as the bilingual liaison between migrant families and relevant community agencies. The role will create and distribute resources that support staff working with a variety of children/family issues and needs.Works directly with supervisor, and site leaders to document needs, and provide resources for staff and families at designated sites.Essential Job Functions:
  • Acts as a liaison for seasonal migrant families including bilingual support, Farm Worker's Association, and local community resources such as local health, dental, vision, and other support service professionals to assist and support families with meeting their overall needs in accessing services.
  • Provides community referrals to agencies and other support services; coordinates services with other providers; maintains the resource directory for community programs and resources which would benefit the growth of children and families.
  • Assists in resolution process regarding any family grievances or crisis situations involving children/parents and initiate any interventions in partnership with agency staff as appropriate.
  • Supports center leaders to facilitate families' transition into the local area in addition to planning and coordinating within the community.
  • Supports with maintaining resources and tools for Program staff and families to utilize for training and education purposes on various topics of overall wellness and education.
  • Researches and suggests local area programs and resources; designs individual responses and materials for each request.
  • Presents materials in the language to best suit the family.
  • Provides information about community outreach activities, ideas, and resources designed for center staff to engage all families.
  • Follows up with center leaders/families to ensure needs have been addressed and maintains updated documentation of support provided.
  • Maintains records of family and center resource referrals; tracks materials provided.
  • Maintains family and staff confidentiality in accordance with Catalyst regulations.
  • Provides center leaders and families with information about community events.
  • Always maintains professional relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • May travel up to 60% within the region.
Education and Experience:EducationThe MINIMUM formal relevant education required by the position. Relevant experience/certifications in lieu of formal education will be considered.
  • BA/BS in Social Work or related field desired; experience specific to early child development/social work
ExperienceThe MINIMUM relevant experience necessary to qualify for the position. Experience in lieu of education is to be counted as part of formal Education and not as part of the required experience.
  • 2 years' experience working directly with families that experience challenging life challenges; legal, financial, homelessness, etc.
  • Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds highly desired.
Other Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to research available resources; ability to maintain resource materials to address individual needs of children, families, and teaching staff.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to research, compile, and present data to Supervisor.

Shift Type: Part Time, Seasonal (Projected months of work April 2024 - October 2024)Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1pm - 5pmCompensation: $22.69 - $34.04 hourlyWhat We Offer:
