Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Intact Family Recovery Advanced Specialist. Under general supervision, this position will serve as monitor and agency liaison for the Department's Intact Family Recovery Project, providing consultation and technical assistance to child welfare and substance use disorder purchase of service agency staff. The position will coordinate the flow of referrals from the Division of Child Protection to the purchase of service agency and monitor the Department's casework services to substance affected families. Essential Functions Serves as monitor and agency liaison for the Department's Intact Family Recovery Project Monitors the Department's casework services to substance affected families, including but not limited to the Juvenile Court SUD Assessment Program, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Support Program, and toxicology testing program Identifies technical assistance and consultation needs of child welfare POS agencies in accessing substance use disorder services for families served by the agencies Prepares necessary documentation for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of POS agency services Provides assistance to child welfare POS agency staff with casework tasks they are unable to perform directly without DCFS assistance, including checks of DCFS information systems and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) eligibility and benefits Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications Preferably requires a master's degree in social work; or a master's degree in a related human service field, supplemented by one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; or requires a bachelor's degree in social work and one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; or requires a bachelor's degree in a related human service field and two years of directly related professional casework/case management experience The college or university issuing a bachelor's or master's degree must be accredited, and the degree program in social work must be approved by the Council on Social Work Education. The directly related professional casework/case management experience must be related to family preservation, family reunification, adoption, youth development, counseling, and advocacy services or a related field.
