Social Work Call Center Representative (Entry-Level, In-Office)
Location: Pasadena, CA
Pay Rate: $25–$28 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | In-Office | 6-Month Commitment
Position Summary
Are you a recent graduate passionate about helping others and making a real impact in your community? We are seeking a compassionate, resourceful, and highly motivated Call Center Representative to join our Registry Engagement Department. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field, and it offers an opportunity to work closely with vulnerable populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Under the mentorship of an experienced team leader, you will assist high-needs In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) recipients, often in urgent or emergency situations. This includes connecting them with backup homecare workers and providing support in navigating community resources, Medi-Cal, and IHSS programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle incoming calls from IHSS recipients, often in emergency situations
- Coordinate back-up homecare workers when original providers are unavailable
- Assist recipients in navigating county and state services like IHSS and Medi-Cal
- Provide guidance and resource referrals tailored to individual client needs
- Document interactions in internal systems accurately and thoroughly
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and effective care coordination
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism in all communications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field
- – OR –
- 1–3 years' experience in social work, homecare, IHSS, or related social service fields
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Call center experience or experience working in a fast-paced support environment
- Knowledge of IHSS, Medi-Cal, or public assistance programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in high-pressure situations

- This is a 6-month, full-time, in-office role
- Must be located in or able to commute to Pasadena, CA
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
