Social Media and Events Specialist - Consumers Credit Union : Job Details

DescriptionSocial Media and Events Specialist We are looking to hire a passionate Social Media and Events Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for member engagement and outreach through the successful creation and implementation of online marketing strategies on Consumers Credit Union's social media channels. The candidate should feel comfortable engaging at events and in the public, often assisting in event execution while handling online social media coverage. What you will be doing: Social media:

• Content creation, posting and response:
• Follow Consumers' social media rules and procedures concerning posting, including coverage of all Consumers markets; experience with social media scheduling software is preferred
• Create engaging text, images and video content via computer or smartphone using filters or other mobile design features; experience in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite products is preferred
• Design posts to peak curiosity and create buzz around events, products and services; this may include boosting posts and/or creating and running online competitions and giveaways
• Update social media accounts' layout and information
• Facilitate conversations with members and respond quickly to comments, questions and reviews; this may require after-work hours and weekends

• Research:
  • Research audience preferences and stay abreast of current trends
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective members and increase overall engagement (e.g., promotions and competitions)

• Training:
  • Train others (loan officers and other staff members) to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way, following brand guidelines
  • Coordinate the Social Media response team

• Reporting: Provide reporting and tracking for social media outreach as needed

Event Support

• Support event setup, execution and cleanup, including transporting and organizing materials like banners, giveaways and raffle items as needed.
• Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events.
• Create and schedule social media content before and after events, which could also include designing event flyers and lobby signage, often alongside social media graphics.
• Capture and/or edit high-quality event photography for use in marketing and social media.
• Assist with gathering feedback on event impact and value.
• Help with the organization, care, maintenance and inventory of equipment.

What you'll bring to the table:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2-3 years of experience in social media execution preferred.
• Proven experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram and Pinterest.
• Excellent organizational skills and positive attitude.
• Excellent written and oral communications required.
• Must have initiative, drive, work ethic, and willingness to learn and implement new technologies.
• Must be creative, adaptable and enjoy a team environment while still being able to work independently.
• A desire and ability to see campaigns and projects through to completion despite obstacles and time constraints is required-especially in our fast-paced environment!
• Ability to work in Kalamazoo at least one day per week, but travel to different offices for work-related events and activities.
