Position Type: Administration/Program Administrator Date Posted: 7/10/2025 Location: Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education #9 Date Available: 08/01/2025 Closing Date: 07/25/2025 District: Regional Office of Education #9 SOAR Program Coordinator Position Title: SOAR Program Coordinator Department: Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) Reports To: Assistant Regional Superintendent, Jayme Bajer Terms of Employment: 190 Days Salary: To be determined by level of education and experience Position Summary: The Student Liaison Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the SOAR Student Liaisons who provide support to at-risk students in grades 4-12 in areas including academics, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional skills. This role ensures high quality support of students by guiding and directing the Student Liaisons, ensuring the effective implementation of student success plans, and collaborating and communicating with school leadership. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise, support, coach, and mentor SOAR Student Liaisons, providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to excel in their roles. - Oversee the development and implementation of individualized student success plans, ensuring adherence to program protocols and timelines. - Analyze data from Student Liaisons regarding student progress, attendance, behavior, and academic performance to inform decision-making, assess the effectiveness of the liaisons, and guide the program's growth. - Collaborate with school district leadership to ensure the program aligns with expectations and demonstrates measurable student success. - Organize and lead regular training and professional development sessions for Student Liaisons, ensuring they are equipped with up-to-date skills in case management, crisis intervention, student advocacy, and fostering social-emotional learning environments. - Support Student Liaisons in engaging with families and community resources when necessary, and assist in addressing student crises through guidance on de-escalation, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention in line with school policies. - Ensure Student Liaisons maintain accurate case notes, track student progress, and document interventions and outcomes. Conduct regular case reviews to ensure students are progressing and that appropriate interventions are in place. - Foster consistent and proactive communication among Student Liaisons, addressing concerns and facilitating difficult conversations when needed. - Monitor the effectiveness of the ALOP program, make recommendations for improvements, and prepare reports on program outcomes and student progress for school leadership and district administration, demonstrating the success of the program. - Oversee the completion of the yearly continuation ALOP application. - Organize opportunities for family engagement. Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Licensure or certification in relevant areas (such as school counseling, social work, or teaching) is a plus. - A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in education, social work, counseling, or a related field, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience working with at-risk or underserved youth is preferred. - Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and support a team of Student Liaisons effectively. - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. - Ability to analyze complex situations and develop and implement strategies to support students and resolve conflicts. - Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including educators, administrators, parents, and community partners, to support student success.
