We are a private, not-for-profit organization that coordinates public health grants for a 26-county region in central PA, seeking a SNAP Outreach Educator to work in the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). This is a full-time position.

Requirements

The SNAP Outreach Educator is responsible for conducting outreach activities, disseminating SNAP information, pre-screening clients, and initiating the electronic application process. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with community partners and social service providers to identify potentially eligible clients for SNAP enrollment.

The work week is 37.5 hours per week and may include an occasional evening and weekend. Reliable transportation and a valid PA driver's license are required for travel within the following counties: Cambria and Somerset.

High School Diploma or GED is required. The successful candidate will possess the following skills; strong verbal and written communication, time management and prioritization, computer literacy including Microsoft 365, and the ability to relate well with all adult age groups.

Child Protection ( Act 153 Clearances )

The following clearances and background checks are required upon employment and as a condition of continued employment:

  • PA State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH)
  • FBI Criminal Record Check, from fingerprinting
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA)
