Kratos has an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator to support system and infrastructure engineers, cloud engineers, and developers in the execution of information assurance and security. The System Administrator will assist with compliance of classified government contracts and systems, being responsible for security administration, patching, configuration, and security of classified government systems. Reports to the Information Systems Security Manager and performs all assigned tasks. The role also involves supporting vulnerability and risk assessments to maintain Assessment & Authorization, and managing configuration for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.

This position is based on multiple DoD directives, including DoD 5205.07 volumes 1-4, DoDD 5205.02E, DoDI 5025.01, and others listed in the original description.

Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.

Network Administration Responsibilities
  • Apply DISA STIGs to network devices as applicable
  • Provide recommendations on network and system configurations, functionality, and security
  • Familiar with fundamental networking concepts, configuration of file sharing, DNS queries, and routing
Infrastructure Support Responsibilities
  • Maintain and monitor system environment and equipment
  • Perform hardware/software/firmware installation and upgrades
  • Configure systems to comply with current STIGs
  • Manage system folders, security groups, user accounts, and perform routine maintenance
  • Support hardware replacements, system monitoring, backups, performance tuning, and recovery
Security Support Responsibilities
  • Support incident response, monitor vulnerabilities, and perform forensic analysis
  • Manage user permissions, audit configurations, and perform updates and patches
  • Ensure remote access security, sanitization, and decommissioning procedures
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • US Citizenship
  • Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 2 years of experience, or 5 years of experience without degree
  • Security+ certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs
  • Willingness to undergo a CI Polygraph
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years of System Administrator experience supporting a TS/SCI environment
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, network protocols, NIST standards, and DoD STIGs
  • Ability to script in administrative languages like Perl, Python, or PowerShell
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in teams
