SUMMARY: Responsible for facility management and operations of the Ocean Bowl Skate Park. Performs specialized recreational programming for the skatepark to include developing, planning, instructing, implementing and evaluation. Work includes recreation budget proposal and control, staff supervisory functions, and annual report summaries. Onsite supervision of Bayside Park at 3rd Street (east and west blocks) including, but not limited to, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, playground, restrooms, open space, boardwalk, walkways, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises 2 – 5 employees at the Ocean Bowl Skate Park. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 1 – 2 years of supervisory/management experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages. Ability to add; subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent CPR and Basic First Aid Certification. Valid driver's license required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONSMust be able to think and act quickly and remain calm under emergency situations. Must be able to make decisions promptly and work unsupervised. Must have working knowledge of computers and must be able to work within the Department's point-of-sale/registration system. Knowledge of the skating industry preferred.
