Under the direction of the program director or designee, assist in coordinating daily operations of the Child Care/Pre-School Center, enforce program regulations, maintain an appropriate environment for children and staff, and perform related work as required.
Responsibilities
- Establish classroom policies and procedures for children's development and safety; ensure compliance with licensing requirements and state regulations.
- Oversee staff levels, child-teacher ratios, and monitor staff to meet center goals and support program objectives.
- Implement curriculum within contractual guidelines and organizational policies.
- Train, evaluate, and guide staff; provide feedback on performance.
- Engage with parents regarding their children's development, explain procedures, and address concerns.
- Maintain accurate family enrollment and attendance reporting.
- Report suspected child abuse to authorities.
- Coordinate staff meetings and training sessions.
- Participate in classrooms as needed.
- Complete assessments, oversee parent-teacher conferences, and ensure documentation compliance.
- Manage supplies, materials, and equipment requests.
- Oversee food program, ensure dietary accommodations, and train staff on allergies.
- Prepare monthly activity reports and attendance documentation.
- Ensure children's supervision and safety at all times.
- Conduct enrollment meetings and orient parents to the program.
- Follow health, safety, and emergency procedures, including drills.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the center.
- Support MAOF policies, and assist with accreditation preparations.
Requirements
- Site Supervisor Permit from the California Commission of Teacher Credentials.
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred.
- Three semester units in infant/toddler care (required for infant/toddler centers).
- At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
- Six semester units in supervision/management in CD/ECE.
- Two semester units of adult supervision in CD/ECE.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
- Preventative Health Practices Course (8 hours).
- Physical and mental fitness for management duties.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; computer literacy.
- Ability to work harmoniously with staff, clients, and community.
- Commitment to MAOF's goals and regular attendance.
Health & Special Requirements
- Meet State health requirements, including physical, TB clearance, and vaccinations.
- Possess a valid California driver's license and auto insurance; have a clean driving record.
- Clear FBI, DOJ, and CACI background checks.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Regularly use hands, talk, sit, reach, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Work environment includes standard office and classroom settings, with safety protocols in place.
