About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Site Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for a ground-up, wood-frame multifamily development in Poughkeepsie, NY. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with hands-on experience managing construction sites, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Project Oversight
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Supervise subcontractors, coordinate materials, and monitor daily construction operations to ensure timely progress.
Schedule & Workflow Management
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules to meet key milestones.
- Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
Budget Control & Value Engineering
- Monitor and manage on-site budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising quality or safety.
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
- Enforce strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance across all project phases.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all work meets quality standards and design specifications.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure productivity, safety, and quality performance.
- Serve as the main point of contact between on-site personnel and project management teams.
Construction Documentation
- Maintain daily logs, progress reports, change orders, and safety documentation.
- Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project) for tracking progress and reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5+ years in construction management or site supervision, with a strong background in wood-frame residential or ground-up construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted).
