The company's construction experience includes a broad range of industrial projects, including automotive manufacturing, chemical, textile, plant relocation, equipment installation, direct and indirect process utility installation, and ground-up manufacturing plant construction.The Site Superintendent assists the Project Manager by managing designated field activities associated with the project and supervising field construction work by subcontractors and employees. This role supports the project team to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational policies, procedures, and core values.Essential FunctionsProject Financial Responsibilities
  • Review and update progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion on a regular basis to support the Project Manager.
Preconstruction Services
  • Participate in preconstruction planning regarding the project schedule and budget when possible.
  • Review project estimates and cost control systems at project initiation.
Project Start-up and Scheduling
  • Understand project specifications and contract documents; ensure compliance in all materials and subcontracted work.
  • Ensure proper material testing according to specifications and maintain accurate test result records.
Project Administration, Operations, and Close-Out
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors and field personnel within designated expertise areas.
  • Support communication of expectations and directions regarding schedules, construction methods, policies, permits, safety, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure site safety and asset protection, while implementing safety, EEO, risk management, training, and quality control protocols.
  • Attend weekly project meetings with subcontractor representatives and understand scheduled upcoming work.
  • Assist in project close-out to finalize financials, demobilize resources, and transition deliverables to the client.
Customer Relations
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups to support performance and satisfaction.
Culture, Leadership, and Employee Development
  • Promote core values through service, talent, and sound decision-making.
  • Engage in career development training and support growth of direct reports.
  • Participate in community, client, and subcontractor engagement to strengthen professional reputation.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Strong decision-making skills, especially under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to coordinate people, tools, and processes to achieve project goals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, process improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency with computers and communication tools (e.g., email, internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Industrial construction experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with field operations concepts and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction contract language.
Working Environment
  • Work is primarily conducted on-site in trailers or existing structures; PPE must be worn outside as required by safety policies and weather conditions.
  • Availability for extended hours, weekends, and holidays may be required to meet project deadlines.
