Duties and Responsibilities
The AF SAP Security Support Services assist the AF security authority in overseeing security operations, processes, and management for SAP interests. The Site Security Manager (SSM) is responsible for security aspects of project planning, design, construction, and compliance with regulatory requirements for facility accreditation. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing security plans and documentation, including CVR, CSP, FFC, and TEMPEST documentation.
- Conducting security inspections and ensuring compliance throughout the project.
- Documenting violations and coordinating with the AO for mitigation.
- Ensuring security of construction sites, materials, and access control.
- Working with the AO to counter security and counterintelligence threats.
- Adhering to NISPOM, DoD, DCID, ICD, UFCs, and SAP policies.
- Overseeing security staff and procedures, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Notifying pertinent security matters to management.
- Ensuring project meets ICD 705, UFC 4-010-05, and customer requirements.
- Participating in planning meetings and providing security input.
- Maintaining documentation and conducting threat/vulnerability assessments for SCIFs and SAP facilities.
- Briefing personnel on security topics and ensuring policy compliance.
- Providing accreditation documentation and leadership to security teams.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of related experience or 7 years of experience without a degree.
- Experience with SPeD certifications (up to 3 years of equivalent experience).
- Experience in physical security, personnel management, and construction management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to operate independently and complete required safety and security training within specified timelines.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and walk long distances.
- Desired: Industry security management certifications, construction surveillance experience, blueprint reading.
