What we want

The Site Manager, under general direction, manages the day-to-day operations of the Texas A&M Health's Simulation & Immersive Learning Center (Sim Center) located in McAllen, Texas. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, vendors, customers, and other program staff, to facilitate experiential learning encounters for Texas A&M Health students and external customers, ensuring safe and effective simulation practices. Provides supervision and training for assigned staff.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

5 years of experience in a management role with oversight of multiple staff or programs/departments.

Required Licenses and Certifications

CHSE- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, or CHSOS- Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist, or medical certification/licensure, or ability to obtain simulation certifications within 36 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing or other health-related field, or in organizational management.

Completion of education courses in healthcare, healthcare education, business, management, or related fields.

3 years of experience in direct patient care, clinical simulation, education, healthcare, technology, event planning/management, supervision, and/or business.

Experience with clinical simulation equipment, Human Patient Simulators, manikins, task trainers, and medical procedure simulators.

Current CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator), CHSOS (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist), or Healthcare certification/licensure within the last 5 years.

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

Ability to work independently as well as a team member.

Highly efficient organization and time management skills.

High level of attention to detail.

Experience in post-secondary education.

Experience with audio/visual software, learning management software, and customer resource management software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and virtual meeting applications.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Ability to effectively and comfortably interact with faculty, staff, students, and the community/external customers.

Ability to direct, coach, and mentor employees' performance.

Responsibilities

Site Management

Works under the direction of the Assistant Director of Operations and with service line managers to support the vision of the department for the site and department.

Manages the site schedule and assigns site staff to support the teaching events adequately.

Assists in the delivery of teaching events.

Ensures the facility is prepared for the scheduled events.

Coordinates with local vendors and service providers to ensure facilities remain in working order. Assists with the development and production of materials designed for the program.

Plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day operations and activities.

Travels intermittently to support the mission of the department as assigned (up to 25% of the time).

Logistics

Schedules and oversees the maintenance and repairs of simulation equipment, include human patient simulators, technology, and task trainers.

Coordinates student activities, including scheduling, ordering supplies, setting up rooms, preparing moulage, setting up furniture, providing adequate supplies, issuing equipment per event needs, and implementing scenario(s) or skills training.

Restores environments and equipment to a state of readiness after scenarios or training.

Serves as the accountable property steward for the site.

Supervision

Develops, implements, and maintains procedures and process documents for the administration of the program.

Trains staff on simulation standards of best practice, human patient simulators, and task simulators use.

Supervises staff and student workers as assigned.

Leadership/ Other Duties

Participates in the leadership team to develop service lines and strategic plans.

Sets goals and supports the program.

Reviews the SIM programs' customer resource management tool to verify event requests are submitted, followed, and scheduled appropriately.

Participates in the associate review process.

Attends meetings to represent the department as assigned.

Assists with yearly budgetary and contract processes.

Prepares vouchers, purchase orders, and requisitions.

Coordinates with accounting personnel and other support staff.

Other Duties

Serves as the Campus Programs for Minors Liaison for the Simulation & Immersive Learning Center to fulfill the responsibilities in accordance with University Rule 24.01.06.M1. Campus Program(s) for Minors Liaison Responsibilities: Ensuring all documentation for programs under their purview, including Third Party programs, is on file prior to the start date and is retained in accordance with university rules.

Performs other duties as assigned.
