Job Description :
This is a Year-Round Position. Resume Required with ApplicationJob Summary: The New Construction Team Member will assist with all aspects of general construction. They will complete various construction and building projects as a team and/or individual; including but not limited to, demolition, concrete work, utilities, interior, roofing, etc.Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs and completes a variety of construction and carpentry tasks with quality workmanship to construct, maintain, or modify buildings or facilities.
  • Preparing construction sites, materials, and tools.
  • Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Removing debris and materials from construction sites.
  • Mixing, pouring, and leveling concrete.
  • Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and scaffolding.
  • Follows standard safety precautions; adheres to operator's instructions when using power tools; wears recommended protective equipment such as goggles, hearing protectors, and/or work gloves.
  • Effectively communicate with others on your team, other maintenance teams, and all other divisional employees and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with other maintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • A willingness and passion for learning new skills and knowledge of the trade.
  • A good attention to detail with accuracy, precision, and quality of the work produced.
  • Able to adhere to all construction project specifications, including blueprints, building codes, and quality standards.
  • General understanding of construction methods, processes, and terminology including but not limited to, masonry, framing, finish carpentry, concrete forming, drywall installation, finishing, plumbing, and pipe fitting.
  • General understanding of carpentry and construction tools, techniques, and terminology.
  • Good understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
  • Ability to work well with others.
Education and Experience:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to withstand heights, climb stairs, walk, stand, reach, stoop, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, and concrete.
  • Must have a full range of physical motion as required to properly operate manual and electric power tools.
  • Must have the balance necessary to traverse and work on scaffolding and roofs.
  • Will work in a variety of environments and weather with exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals in both indoor and outdoor construction and carpentry.
  • Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • Must be able to tolerate a year-round outdoor environment; cold and hot temperatures.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to remember locations, understand, and carry instructions.
Work Environment:This role works primarily in outdoor and indoor construction environments that can be physically demanding and fast-paced. Projects may take place across a variety of terrains and settings. Team members regularly work in varying weather conditions, ranging from extreme heat to cold, and may be exposed to dust, debris, fumes, and loud noise typical of active construction zones. This role involves regular use of power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment, requiring strict adherence to safety procedures and protective gear. Collaboration with team members and other departments is essential, but individuals should also be comfortable working independently.
