Looking for a new opportunity in central Wisconsin? ABR has partnered with a client in Waupun that is looking for several new staff to join an existing food preparation / shred line and sanitation dept.These positions are 12-hour shifts that are scheduled from either5:15 AM-5:30 PM or 5:15 PM-5:30 AM. They use a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, which means those in these positions work 2-3 days at a time. Any days you work one week, you would not work the next. It would also require that you work two weekends a month.Pay is $20 an hour, and if after the temporary trial period is over and the client is interested in hiring you on a permanent basis, that pay would increase to over $24/hr.Duties
- Conducts box/bag audits to ensure label and code date information is accurate.
- Utilizes customer specifications to prepare for production runs and verifies that products being run are consistent with orders.
- Sets-up, adjusts, and monitors Urschel and other equipment.
- Performs equipment checks as needed.
- Opens cheese for conveyor loading. Cuts open blocks or loaves of cheese and manually loads infeed belts.
- Packs bags of cheese in boxes and runs through the taper. Completes an audit sheet for verification of correct order information.
- Inspects bags and boxes to ensure quality standards are being met, code dates are visible and accurate and ensures the pack-off area printer is accurate.
- Completes all required production paperwork.
- Weighs Trim and Scrap.
- Follows all packaging Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assists operators with leaker, gas checks, and weights as needed.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with the Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines to ensure that quality food products are manufactured in a sanitary production environment and delivered with superior protection to our customers and consumers.
- Disassembles, rinses, foams, scrubs, sanitizes and reassembles equipment in the packaging plant. (Requires a mechanical aptitude.)
- Rinses, foams, and scrubs the floors in the packaging plant.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Maintains daily production Master Sanitation Schedule requirements up to and including flooding drains and sanitizing carts.
Additional duties may include:
- Retrieves boxes for production runs.
- Fixes broken harp wires.
- Fills Accurate Feeder Machine and cart with anti-caking agent as needed.
- Disposes of trash properly.
- Overtime as required.
- Performs all other duties as assigned (However some may become primary)
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and volume.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather) and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loudPhysical Demands:
- Constant reaching, grasping, pinching of product from knee to overhead heights
- Constant lifting product from knee to shoulder heights weighing 20lbs a distance of 1-3 feet to a conveyor, which is at waist height
- Constant lifting of Cellulose bags weighing 25lbs from waist to overhead
- Constant carrying of Cellulose bags weighing 25lbs a distance of 25 feet
- Stand more than 2/3 of each hour during a shift
- Squat, kneel, and climb 1-32 times per shift
- Lifting and/or moving up to 20# more than 200 times per shift and up to 45lbs 33-200 times per shift
- Close vision ability, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Heavy lifting and /or moving is required on a regular basis.
