Move loads around the truck yard. Ability to back up trailers to dock doors, often with other trailers on either side of the dock Verify loads for accuracy Ensure trailer is in quality working condition prior to relocating Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle. Ensure load matches paperwork before leaving all sites. Safe and legal operation of a commercial vehicle. Various other duties and tasks as assigned. May perform activities related to load planning of outbound trucks to meet customer delivery requirements and cost parameters. Utilize material handling equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, skids, etc. to stage materials and load trucks. Verify product against shipping documents and authorizations, pack product for shipment according to specifications. Prepare bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges in appropriate systems. Maintain inventory levels of supplies such as cartons, tape and other packing material.
