Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, and properly document inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in regular cycle counts.
- Transport material between sites (East Granby and Bloomfield)
- Communicate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve shipping or inventory issues.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as needed, following safety protocols.
- Assist with stockroom activities such as pulling material (kitting) for Manufacturing
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to logistics and inventory management
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant certification in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, or IFS preferred)
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Skills
- Proficient in inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, or barcode scanning software)
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email systems
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documents
- Familiarity with safety procedures and material handling best practices
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina to lift, move, and organize materials as needed
