As a Shipping Lead, you'll be the expert in charge of our shipping operations, with a primary focus on handling international and hazardous materials (hazmat) shipments. You'll ensure every package, from standard items to specialty metals, gets where it needs to go safely, on time, and in full compliance with all regulations. Your role is critical for training the team, managing documentation, and acting as the go-to person for complex shipping challenges.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate all aspects of international shipments, including preparing and managing documentation such as commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and customs forms.
- Ensure all hazardous materials are properly classified, packaged, marked, and labeled according to domestic (e.g., DOT) and international (e.g., IATA, IMDG) regulations.
- Follow specific carrier requirements for hazmat shipments, such as those from FedEx and UPS.
- Oversee and manage the shipment of metals, which may involve special handling and documentation for customs declarations, tariffs, and insurance.
- Lead and train shipping team members, ensuring all safety procedures and company policies are followed.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors and other departments.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
