Position Summary

The Shipping Assistant is responsible for documenting, packing, and processing order shipments—both domestic and international—while ensuring product quality. This role works closely with customer service/sales and operations teams to ensure timely deliveries, maintain accurate records, and foster positive customer relationships. This position reports to the Shipping/Receiving Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Pull, package, label, and weigh customer orders
• Wipe, oil, and apply edge protection to inspected products
• Verify product quantities and shipping methods for accuracy
• Process domestic and international shipments
• Conduct goods receipt verification
• Sort, initiate, and put away stock accurately
• Maintain inventory accuracy when pulling products
• Follow directions and procedures with minimal supervision
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
• Comply with all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies
• Recommend safety improvements to the SHE committee
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Drug and Background screening
• Reliable transportation
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Solid work ethic and dependable availability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Ability to learn and use ERP systems

Working Environment

• Primarily indoor environment within a manufacturing facility
• Moderate noise level
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, sit, walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills required
