Shift Supervisor

Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime, paid hourly):

Hourly rate: $19.32

Work Schedule: 4pm to 12am

The Role

Under the general direction of the Operations Coordinator I, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the specific Shelter program systems to ensure security, safety, and efficiency of daily client services and activities. Responsibilities include supporting client-scheduled services, ensuring they are delivered as scheduled, managing external appointments, and coordinating program activities.

Please Note: Candidates must obtain the FDNY F-80 Certificate within 90 days of hire if hired.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Supervise and monitor the environment to ensure guidelines are followed and relationships remain positive.
  • Manage daily program schedule of activities, ensuring events occur and participants attend.
  • Supervise and monitor the facility for cleanliness, security, and safety practices.
  • Conduct mandated fire drills and evacuations.
  • Administer breathalyzer tests and observe urine specimen collection when indicated by program standards.
  • Conduct facility and safety checks to assess clients for substance use or unsafe conditions.
  • Review scheduled client appointments and ensure trips are dispatched promptly.
  • Dispatch vehicles, ensuring paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Distribute carfare for external appointments.
  • Review appointment escorts for appropriateness.
  • Comply with 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor kitchen and food preparations in the absence of Food Service staff to ensure compliance with health standards.
Qualifications

Who You Will Be

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • At least two years of experience in Human Services, preferably in agencies delivering social services or substance use/homelessness programs.
  • Ability to obtain FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness within 90 days of hire.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR Certification.
  • Willingness to obtain NYC Food Handler's Certificate as needed.
  • Flexible schedule availability to meet participant and staff needs.
