Description: Position SummaryUnder limited supervision while working with management to fulfill goals, and objectives in the Slot Department. Provide leadership and motivation to staff at all levels to ensure a consistent and professional corporate image.Supervision ExercisedSupervised by the Assistant Slot Shift Manager. Supervises personnel as assigned.Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides excellent customer service and establishes guest perception of the Slot Department as that of exceptional hospitality and friendliness.
  • Performs assigned slot department activities in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed in the Sandia Casino System of Internal Controls.
  • Supervises slot floor attendants for an assigned shift.
  • Acts as host and answers customer concerns questions and investigates and resolves customer complaints.
  • Approves large jackpot pay outs per approved internal controls.
  • Ensures adherence to federal cash reporting requirements.
  • Trains slot employees.
  • Assists slot technicians when necessary.
  • Assists Slot Attendants with minor repairs, tilt resets.
  • Ensures that employee Performance Appraisal are done in a timely manner.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, direct and assign work.
  • Ability to make judgments and decisions regarding customer employee complaints.
  • Ability to implement and administer disciplinary procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and develop time lines, project resources, monitor and evaluate results.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the general public and casino staff.
  • Ability to write reports and maintain slot files and employee Schedules.
  • Ability to develop and implement training needs for employees and Tribal members.
  • Knowledge of Casino operations, Tribal, federal and state reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of all slot and gaming equipment.
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure and levels of stress.
  • Ability to use a 10 key calculator.
  • Ability to count and verify large sums of money: coin/cash.
  • Ability to recognize and process jackpot payouts.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Requirements: Minimum Qualifications, Education and ExperienceRequired:
  • High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years' experience in a slot department including six (6) months supervisory experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Licensing Status
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
  • Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
  • Working Conditions
  • Work is performed indoors.
  • Work hours subject to change with overtime required.
  • Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  • Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors, and elevated noise levels.
  • Tasks maybe performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  • Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  • Specific required movements include the following:
    • Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry.
    • Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate.
    • Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate.
    • Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
