Position Description: Our Sheet Metal Installers are expected to follow the design and specifications required of the project. The Sheet Metal Installers will receive direct and indirect supervision. This position is a safety sensitive job, where the employee is responsible for and can impact their own safety as well as the safety of those around them.
PRIMARY SKILLS:
Expertly fabricates, assembles, installs, repairs, or replaces commercial HVAC systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls used to transport water, waste, gases or liquidsReads blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of HVAC systems, and any other relevant project detailsSelect gauge and type of sheet metal according to SMACNALocate and mark dimensions per plans, specifications, and shop drawingsFabricate duct onsite to include miter and alterations to shop fabricated ductErect and install equipment such as air handling units, VAV boxes, fan power boxes, and others as requiredWorks in cooperation with all co-workers as well as other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, building codes (local and state), safety regulations, and legal requirements are metAccepts directives and guidance from Foreman and Field SupervisorEnsures efficient completion of all projectsAvailable and willing to travel to assigned job sitesAvailable and willing to work overtime, as neededPerforms manual labor tasks that prepares the work area for primary tasksParticipates in meetings, workshops, training and seminars as requiredOther duties as assignedPosition Requirements: Solid understanding of building codes and safety practicesHigh School diploma or equivalentAbility to read and interpret diagrams, plans and manualsAttention to detail and quality of work performedAbility to work independently, with excellent time management skillsGood communications skillsGood organizational skillsObserves and abides by all Company procedures and safety rulesAbility to work and interact with others in a positive mannerEqual Opportunity Employer: QuesTec Mechanical is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
