Shareholder Litigation Associate - Purcell & Lefkowitz LLP : Job Details

We are a plaintiffs-side law firm seeking a litigation associate with 4 to 8 years of experience. We focus primarily on shareholder derivative litigation and shareholder class actions, with particular emphasis on breach of fiduciary duty claims, including cases involving excessive executive and director compensation practices.

Primary responsibilities include drafting complaints, legal briefs, and managing large discovery matters such as negotiating discovery issues, drafting document requests, interrogatories, and discovery motions, conducting privilege reviews, secondary review of documents, and deposition preparation.

Our small but busy practice provides younger attorneys with significant responsibilities in case handling. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualities: ability to work independently; knowledge of securities laws and corporate fiduciary law; familiarity with financial markets; basic understanding of accounting and finance concepts; and excellent writing skills.
