Position Title: Site Manager Department: Thin Slab Caster - Mold & Segment Workshop Employment Type: Full-Time | Travel Required Job Overview: An international metals industry solutions provider is seeking a Site Manager to oversee operations within its Thin Slab Caster - Mold & Segment Workshop. This leadership role requires managing and coordinating a multidisciplinary workforce of 20-30 personnel, ensuring timely and quality maintenance operations, and aligning with customer expectations and contractual obligations. The Site Manager reports directly to the Hub Service Manager and is a key player in driving productivity, safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are consistently met
  • Supervise and prioritize the workload of a 20-30 member team in a high-paced production environment
  • Identify and resolve operational issues such as material shortages, equipment failures, or design anomalies
  • Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders to align on schedules, goals, and project updates
  • Support the development of thin-slab caster production plans aligned with workshop capacity
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance safety, equipment reliability, and workflow efficiency
  • Provide performance feedback and participate in employee development, mentoring, and training
  • Ensure accurate, timely timekeeping and reporting for both payroll and project accountability
  • Administer routine administrative tasks such as documentation, data entry, and records maintenance
  • Organize and maintain work areas in alignment with lean manufacturing and safety protocols
  • Participate in root cause analysis exercises and contribute to long-term corrective actions
  • Make personnel decisions within established HR policy guidelines
  • Deliver performance metrics and KPIs to management as assigned
  • Travel up to 70% in the first year for training and site assignments (domestic and international)
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in the iron and steel industry
  • Proven success in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • In-depth knowledge of Reliability Engineering Strategies and Systems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Operational or maintenance experience within Casting and/or Hot/Cold Rolling is a strong advantage
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively for training and site deployments during the first year
