Job Description :

ServiceNow Platform Architect

To support our ongoing digital transformation and foster innovation to drive towards sustained delivery in the most cost-efficient manner, the ServiceNow Platform Architect role becomes critical. This role will:

  • Play a crucial part in the transition from APM to EA Pro, evolving from a focus on individual applications to a broader strategy that aligns technology, business goals, and enterprise-wide processes.
  • Help align IT and business objectives, ensuring that ServiceNow's capabilities are optimized across the organization.

Aon is in the business of better decisions.

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

A ServiceNow Platform Architect will help achieve the following:

  • Holistic Vision and Strategy Alignment: Establish a unified vision for the entire enterprise, ensuring that ServiceNow platform initiatives support overall business objectives rather than isolated goals. Create an architecture roadmap that aligns with strategic priorities, enabling a cohesive transformation.
  • Expertise in Frameworks and Standards: The Platform Architect brings knowledge of established EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman), providing guidance in setting up structured processes, standards, and governance for technology and business alignment.
  • Enhanced Interoperability and Integration: Unlike APM, which focuses on isolated applications, EA promotes a more integrated environment across business units. The Platform Architect will ensure seamless interoperability, helping to design systems that work together effectively, enhance data flow, and improve business agility.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Platform Architects manage risks associated with complex system integration and data sharing. Implement robust governance practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across the enterprise.
  • Optimize ServiceNow's architecture: Ensure that all ServiceNow modules and workflows align with our broader enterprise architecture and business goals.
  • Drive platform utilization: Identify opportunities to use new features and modules within ServiceNow, such as ITSM, ITOM, EA (replacement of APM), and HR Service Delivery.
  • Reduce reliance on external consultants: Develop in-house expertise and knowledge-sharing, reducing dependency on third-party resources and cutting associated costs.
  • Institute technical governance to optimize platform performance and minimize long-term technical risk.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and translate business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business goals.
  • Drive standardization and standard process platform management, enabling focus on value delivery.
  • Institute technical governance to optimize platform performance and minimize long-term technical risk.
  • Enable rapid upgrades to new features and innovations that drive new value.
  • Define, guide, and support the execution of technical governance processes.
  • Help develop standards and practices for maintaining the ServiceNow architecture model.
  • Aid in developing standards and practices for maintaining the health of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Provide technical evaluation of demands against ServiceNow platform architecture, platform capabilities, and standard processes.
  • Ensure platform alignment with the business strategy.
  • Create and maintain a detailed view of the existing architecture.
  • Provide architectural controls to ensure the correct technical solutions are used when delivering business solutions.
  • Resolve technical issues, including responding to defects.
  • Participate in process workshops.
  • Work closely with the enterprise architecture team.
  • Aid in migrating configuration across instances.
  • Position ServiceNow as the system of action to enable the integrated digital transformation roadmap.
  • Work with teams to optimize delivery operating model governance to ensure successful go-lives, end-user adoption, and ongoing support.
Required Experience:
