We're committed to creating memorable dining experiences that nourish the mind, body, and spirit.Role Overview: The Pastry Chef operations is offered at five locations serving over 10,000 meals a week! The Pastry Chef is responsible for planning and directing food preparation in the campus bakery operation, which includes producing quality products from scratch for our large campus dining program. This includes supervision of staff and other administrative duties, development of recipes, and pushing innovation.Core Responsibilities:
  • Baking Support: Under the direction of the Executive Chef, utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under-production. Assistance in the creative direction of the Bakery Department. Supervise and train staff.
  • Kitchen Support: Communicate needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to Executive Chef appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Cleanliness:Maintain production records and logs (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.)Maintain a clean and sanitized work. Ensures that all sanitation guidelines, health codes set by local and state Health Departments, as well as OSHA, are being followed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Culinary Arts Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Professional Baking Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory Experience
  • Serv Safe Certification
  • First Aid Training
Work Schedule:
  • Hours: 8:00 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Pay Range: $22.00 $25.00 per hour
