Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Web Developer with a strong focus on Shopify Plus to join our Digital Product & E-commerce team at MERIT. As a pivotal member of the team, you will play a key role in shaping and optimizing our online presence. This role requires theme and app development expertise in Shopify Plus, demonstrating a deep understanding in customizing and enhancing the platform to meet the unique needs of our business.

Though you will be reporting to the Director of Digital Product & E-commerce, this role requires that you work closely with marketing and creative teams. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Meritbeauty.com
  • Collaborate with team in creating and development new features, app integrations, and custom theme updates to the Shopify Plus stores
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation and lead internal-facing demos for digital products
  • Document existing and new customizations and workflows that impact our existing tech stack
  • Communicate with the Director of Digital Product & E-commerce and other key stakeholders on the status of projects on a daily basis
  • Investigate the capabilities of tools, apps, or integrations that could be used to satisfy the requirements of a digital product
  • Implement advanced debugging techniques and usage of browser developer tools
  • Provide technical feedback and estimates based off roadmap scoping meetings and projects kickoffs
  • Develop front-end features based on designs and prototypes from web-based tools like Figma
  • Own technical and engineering requirements with the Director of Digital Product & E-commerce
  • Collaborate and mentor developers to complete code review, address feedback and ensure code quality improvements provided by team
  • Familiarity with version control systems (GIT) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Collaborate with Director of Digital Product & E-commerce on a lean tech stack with speed and performance in mind

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience working at an e-commerce business on Shopify Plus
  • Expertise with Shopify Plus custom app development, custom themes, Shopify Scripts, Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, and integrations on an e-commerce site
  • Previous experience working in collaboration with developers on a team
  • Experience in JavaScript, CSS, SQL, XML and HTML, Ruby
  • Strong analysis and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce architecture and connectivity technologies
  • Intuitive troubleshooting skills, with the ability to optimize code for usability, performance, and scalability
  • Attention to detail, especially in the organization and design of scripted solutions
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, keeping momentum on each and while meeting project due dates.
  • Knowledgeable in security / personal data protection principles (i.e. CCPA/GPDR)
  • Thorough testing and debugging skills with browser console and external tools
  • Experience developing for responsive layouts for a desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • Experience working with 3rd party services and APIs, specific plugins for Shopify
  • Strong communication skills specifically while relaying timelines and technical feedback
  • Understanding of e-commerce best practices including CVR optimization, A/B Testing, and UX design
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with latest trends in web development and ecommerce

We are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package in addition to salary compensation. The annual salary range for this role is $115,000-130,000 in addition to bonus potential, stock options, a 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off and more. The final salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the individual's experience and qualifications.
