WSP USA is seeking multiple Part-Time Senior Transit Inspectors to join our National Fleet Facilities Team. These positions may be based out of Lansing-MI, Livermore-CA, Aniston-AL, or Washington, DC.
This role involves providing technical assistance and conducting physical inspections for vehicle assessment, ensuring compliance with contract requirements across various agencies and vehicle platforms. Inspectors will review components, OEM requirements, and oversee teardown, repair, and reinstallation tasks to OEM standards.
Your Impact
- Review workforce readiness and certifications of staff performing repairs.
- Physically inspect work completed by repair technicians, documenting data with notes and images.
- Perform component testing and functionality assessments using specialized tools.
- Monitor and inspect vehicles throughout rehabilitation processes.
- Compile and report inspection data regularly using approved forms and tools.
- Adhere to ethical standards and company policies, performing additional duties as needed.
Who You AreRequired Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 10-15 years in transit or heavy-duty industry as a maintenance technician
- Knowledge of bus manufacturing, repair, and maintenance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, coordinate with regulators, and understand compliance requirements
- Project management experience for small to mid-size projects
- Ability to plan and conduct inspections and audits
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-leadership, attention to detail, multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work independently, with proficiency in technical writing and tools
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies
- Flexible work schedule, potential travel, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work in confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Master certification in Medium/Heavy duty or Transit Bus
- Experience managing small to mid-size projects
- 40-Hour OSHA Safety Training, First Aid, and CPR certifications
Benefits & Compensation
WSP offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, and more. Salary ranges from $35.00/hr to $69.00/hr, depending on experience and location.
